I'm planning on building my own PC soon and within that process I'd like to learn everything I need to build a safe PC [I'm not that much of a novice] But I know there's still a lot to learn before I can start selling my Custom built PC's.
I know that you can overclock the i5 2500k to 5Ghz at max with a really good cooler or even Liquid cooling. Unfortunately I won't have the money to buy a really good Cooler and therefore I will have to stick with the Hyper 212 .
So my question is , If the PC I'm planning to build was mainly for Gaming (Around 2-3 Hours in a row) a day and some photoshop and Video editing too , then what would be the maximum clock I can take my CPU to with the Hyper 212 & a Corsair CX600 PSU baring in mind it will be a gaming intensive PC
EXTRA QUESTION :
So the current PC I have which I bought almost 2 years ago (Big mistake // will never buy a PC from someone else again) Isn't capable of Overclocking my current CPU (Phenom II X4 945 3.0Ghz) @15%. The seller told me it was 100% Safe to have it clocked by an extra 15% but It became obvious it wasn't when I started to get bluescreens while playing Crysis 2. I am using a Crappy/stock CPU cooler too. So what could the problem be? Was he terribly wrong? Or is the cooler simply not good enough? Also I did change the Thermal paste on the CPU, still no help.
