Anyone have any suggestions? Hope fully not too expensive either. This will be going on an asrock extreme4 but in a haf 22, so height is no problem. One day I do want to try oc'ing, but as of now I still have no experience.

Guys, no killer price tags please. A 200$ cooler will be rejected immediately =p

Solution
Its easy. U will reuse the vent mounting holes in the back .

I checked the noctua out and it had pretty good stats. 19 dB, that's silent enough. The biggest drawback is that it's 90$ =/

The cm 212 price wise was much more appealing. It's 19.99$ with mail in rebate. Its drawback is that it's 20-32 dB, a bit loud.

Any that has the best of both worlds?

Another vote for a Corsair H60/H80?H100 !!

I just built my new rig in a CoolerMaster Storm Trooper case. An Asus P8Z77V mobo with an 3770K cpu cooled with A Corsiar H100 with the supplied fans in a push config at the top of my case. Psu sucks fresh air from bottom and blows out back, Hard drives suck left blow right, rear 140mm blows out back. Gpu (EVGA 670 FTW) blows out back. Not currently overclocked, all case fans on low speed , H100 set to medium all is QUIET, Room temp is 76 F. cpu and mobo temps 30/31 C at idle and @ 38 C after 3 hours of COD and L4D2 With all video options maxed out. Gpu barely breaks a sweat too.

Have built 8 other rigs for myself and others all with various high efficiency fan cooled heat piped finned dust clogging case hogging motherboard bending cpu crushing monster coolers. Am glad to be rid of em ! I can actually see my mobo and all its headers and slots and sockets. I can clean my guts easily and actually work on stuff with two hands in my case.

They all were good coolers that worked well but I will not miss them !

My H100 was @104.00 delivered to my door. You can buy one of those finned hogs for less than half that and some of them will equal or nearly equal the H100 with two fans on med with push only. My H100 install was my easiest cpu cooler install ever.

Oh I just noticed you are using a Haf 922 case. : ) Built a rig for my nephew with that case, nice case. Just take the top fan out and mount it on the side door or stick it in your parts bin. The H100 rad and fans will pop right in the top o that case real nicely. The waterblock/pump is @ the size of a pack of cigs.
If your case looks to empty and makes echos like a canyon you can put a small cage with a canary in it where the fanned, finned, heat piped, monster would have been.

Tbh I think I'm going with the cm 212. It's the cheapest but loudest, but when black friday comes around I might just pick up a quieter fan to replace it. But all in all, the cm 212 is still a great fan right?

Agreed. It doesn't look like much (quite hideous, actually), but oh my, does it ever perform very well for its price. Somebody would have to pry mine from my cold, dead hands
