Hey is 800rpm the max fan speed on noctua uh12? i did the prime95 test on my cpu and i kept it on for like 20minutes and my cpu was at that time running 73degrees(some cores 76) is this normal? the cpu is i5-4690k and it's running @3,5ghz stock and when i put the turbo 4.6ghz on it instantly reached 94degrees

Yeah it was , but u should be able to play all the turbo frequencies with auto voltage what i've heard  and yeah 94c is insane to reach within 4seconds

94 degrees at 4.6Ghz is overheating. I have an Intel i5-4690k @ 4.4Ghz and mine never goes above 60 degrees and that's with the stock cooler! You have a better cooler than me and your CPU is still overheating. 73 degrees is still very hot, it should be at 60 degrees whilst doing the test.

Try increasing the fan speed or re-applying the thermal paste.

Hope this helps :)

the thing that really surprises me is that the fan speed is all the time at 800rpm and when i increase it in bios from performance mode to full speed it is still 800rpm (at idle and load ) :/

Wait so you're increasing your fan speed and it's not increasing? This sounds like your cooler either doesn't support a 4pin fan control or you are not changing the correct settings.

now the temps are around 70 after a 20min prime95 test , still feels kinda weird cause the cpu isn't overclocked and i got a aftermarket cooler :/ made a custom fan speed curve at bios and the cooler seems to work fine

Re-applying the thermal paste may help, make sure you use one small dot of thermal paste in the center of the CPU - the size of a small pea. Then gently place the CPU cooler on top and allow the thermal paste to spread across the CPU. But before you re-apply it, make sure you completely remove the old thermal paste.

By "I didn't apply much" what do you mean?

i applied a little amount like half a tea spoon and then spread it over the cpu and then placed the cooler , what thermal paste should i use ? arctic silver 5 good?

So it's probably just the stress test that is making your CPU almost overheat because it's testing your CPU and it's cores. This is normal. What temperatures do you get in games/under load?

Also half a tea spoon sounds like possibly too much thermal paste, you only need a dot the size of a pea.

now im getting idle 28degrees while on internet , might be that prime95 doesn't like haswell cpu's cause my 2nd pc with an old i3-2120 is getting better temps then ( on prime 95) me with stock cooler
