i5 6600 vs 4690 with DDR3

I'm currently making my first build for gaming but I already have some of the pieces from upgrading the prebuilt machine we have. I currently have the power supply, graphics card, and RAM. Since I already own these I am planning to build around them. The RAM I have is DDR3. I know one of the reasons to get a 6600 is for the DDR4 but I'm trying to save as much money as possible. Since they are about the same price, would it be better to get a 6600 or 4690 with the RAM I have?

There is not a huge difference, I'd buy the 4690 if it's cheaper. Otherwise the 6600.

if you can the 4590 is 160 at micro center and the 6500 is 170. the 6500 has 30.00 combo deal. in real world speed the haswell is only slightly slower then skylake. it going to take 3-4 cpu rev before haswell cpu to newer cpu upgrade would be worth it for a gaming system.

The 6600 is $6 more than the 4690 so I think I'll go with that one.
