Hey guys! Just wanted to get some information from several people in regards to temperatures on my 6600k after an overclock because I cant seem to find a straight forward answer, so here it goes...I recently bumped my cpu up to 4.5ghz by using the multiplier only and put my voltage to offset mode in the ASUS BIOS. I ran AIDA64 for 2.5 hours last night and the temps never went over 61C and the current idle temps are floating between 24-28C. Is this good to go?

Thanks!

Even at stock settings those are pretty decent temps for an Intel cpu. At those levels? I don't think you've got anything to worry about. If you see your temps going into the 80s you might want to monitor your cpu temps to make sure it's not going into upper 80s lower 90s. But at 61 you're just fine.

First of all, how high you can oc is determined by your luck in getting a good chip.
Here are some stats:
As of 2/16/16
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.
I5-6600K
4.9 11%
4.8 38%
4.7 70%
4.6 83%

The key metric to monitor is VCORE. You do not want to let it go much past 1.40v.
It is the Vcore that will limit your oc, not temperature.

I think you need run your benchmark only long enough for the temperatures to stabilize.
I like OCCT, it uses more normal instructions than prime95 or IBT.
Once you think you are at max, then go longer.

At the end, I might back off a notch to be conservative.
I like to implement speedstep ahd adaptive voltage.
That will lower the multiplier and voltage when the cpu has little to do.

When I was running AIDA64 the vcore never went about 1.39 and the temps did stabilize. I am not trying to go as high as possible on the OC, I just want to make sure the temps were normal is all
