Ok so I finally saved up enough for a good system. I am going with 16gb of corsair vengeance at 3000mhz, a gtx 1080 ti, but for my processor, I bought an i5 7600k from microcenter thinking it would be enough. I have spent hours of research into the i5 vs the i7 kaby lake editions, but I still don't know what to do: Here's my scenario; I have a limited budget, I am not made out of money, I build and sell PC's to make money, I mostly play overwatch and rb6, but I intend to reach out and play more AAA games. I am on a 60hz 1080p monitor right now, But I am future proofing and I might upgrade my monitor soon. Is the i5 I have enough? I like to run at the highest settings. Should I return it and save a bit more for the i7? Is it worth it for me?

Thanks in advance

I already have the HDD and SSD, and I bought all other components (1080 ti coming on Saturday) I have already spent my budget, but if i waited maybe a week or so I could spend the extra 100, but if It's not worth it, I can save the extra $100 and build on Saturday

I know, but since you are already spending this much, coffee lake is worth getting :) For budget build, you should go with Ryzen 1600 route. Old Gen I7 is worse than coffee lake abut cheaper, Ryzen can have some functionality as old Gen I7 but cheaper :)

I'm just going to stick with my 7600k i5, it can run games like overwatch, fortnite and rb6 at the highest presets at above 60fps and thats good enough for me. (probably 120)
