Hi everyone. I'm putting the final touches on my i5/HD 5850 gaming build, and am stuck on my choice for monitor. There are so many to choose from, that it's given me a headache. I just don't want to make a poor choice. Anyhow, I play a lot of FPS games, and I don't want to waste the $300+ investment toward the Radeon 5850 card. At the same time, my budget is stretched by my decision to go with a Radeon HD 5850 over the $160 Radeon HD 5770.

I'd like a 24" display, but would settle for a 23" if it made the most sense. The monitor should have HDMI hook-up, as well as Full 1080p HD. Res should be x 1080 or x 1200. S

o far I've narrowed it down to these choices. Which one would you choose, or is there something else you'd recommend? The Dell monitor is only on sale until 1/6/10. Is it a good buy for gaming?

your build sound similar to mine(i5/i have 2X5850's) and same dilemna as well lol. i posted my own query on it and will let you know what answers i get. my choices seem to be similar but slightly different models. asus VW246H to your asus vh242h, samsung same but i looked at the "SW" instead of the "hm"(looking at the difference now) and the dell i looked at was the S2409W.(also looked at the samsung ToC240HD for kicks. good luck to us both all 24" with 16:9, 1920X1080 i think.

There are so many that it gets confusing. I guess some are older models, while others are simply different variations of the same set. My main concern is gaming. I don't want to make the wrong monitor choice, after spending so much money on a new build.

I think the difference between the SW and HM is the HDMI hook up. I could be wrong though.

Wow, two 5850's? Holy GPU's! That's a lot of horsepower bud.
