How well will an i7-2600 do for streaming to twitch using OBS and an elgato capture card?

I was going to pick up an i5-3570k for my stream pc but I came into posession of the 2600 and thought that would be better due to hyper threading.

My only worries are:
1. The 2600 only supports PCI Express 2.0 whereas my mobo supports 8x/8x PCIE 3.0, I'll want to put a graphics card in my stream pc because I'll also want to use it as a home theater pc and possibly use it for emulators, mid-range gaming, video streaming etc. The 3570k supports PCIE 3.0, giving me the max amount of bandwidth

2. Since this is not the K version of the processor and cannot be overclocked (at least past like 3.8Ghz) will it struggle, at least compared to a 3570k?

do you have a z68/z77 motherboard? if you do you can overclock it 4 bins higher so that it turbos to 4.0-4.1ghz. pcie 2.0 will not hold back anything. its kind of a wash. the locked i7(with a bin multiplier overclock) will overall be faster than a 3570k@4.5ghz. the faster per core performance of the unlocked i5 will be faster in games and a vast majority of day to day tasks as you know. but the difference is rather small, like 12% faster single core. that isn't a make or break speed difference. but in highly threaded apps the i7 is going to be 10-15% faster. since you are already in possession of the 2600, i would just use it.

I'll be using an Intel DZ77GA-70K motherboard, elgato hd60 capture card, and I'm curious as to what video card I should buy, I would be fine with purchasing one off of eBay. I'd like the performance to be at least as good as a GTX 980 or around there, my mobo supports 8x/8x SLI if buying two cards off of eBay would yield the best price to performance.
