hello, im just wondering why my load temps are so high? im getting around 80c in prime95 and its only at 4.2 at 1.32 volts... i thought this was meant to be a good cpu cooler?

Solution
It is a good cooler I had one on a 1090T OC to 4.2 for over a year. I moved it over to my 3770 Rig at 4.2 also and have not had any temp issues. I mean 80c is not that bad for Intel the cutoff is like 105c so unless you are having issues I would not worry. Make sure pump and fan are spinning though... Remember Prime temps are not real world temps you will prob max out around 60 for everyday use...

Yeah could be. I check with corsair support and maybe return it as your temps should be much lower IMO.

71 to 76 in prime?

well i tried the antec 620 but as soon s i saw the temps go above 90 i shutdown and pulled that thing off xD so i put the H80 back on and put a little bit more paste on than i normaly would and my temps went down quite a bit.... around 67-75 instead of over 80 so maybe i just didnt put enough paste on?

anyway the radiator is also very dusty ( little bunnies between the fins hehe) so i will get the blower vac out tomorrow and scare them away.

i hope that will help me some more.

also what voltage would normaly need for it stable at 4.6? i tried from 1.3 to 1.36 but none was stable. does this mean i lost the 'silicon lottery' hehe?

Earlier post from me:
"80C Is really high. I use the antec kuhler 920 and under benchmark i max around 50-52c. While gaming for long times only around 46-50c. I have AMD fx 8120 @ 4.1."

Correction under FULL load 8-core 100% with prime95 i stay at 45c. Never above it with my khuler 920, the previous max was my temperature probes that comes with my case for the temperature gauge on the front panel. Usually it stays 1 degree difference but under full load case says 50 but my antec khuler monitors it at 45C. Again not an intel but a AMD FX 8120 @ 4.1(stock 3.1).
