I7-3770 or i7-2600K

I have a little question about this processores.

How's the best for my present board?

Gigabyte - GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (rev. 1.3)

Gainward GTX 570

Corsair TX750 v2

Corsair H60

Corsair Vegeance LP 8GB

Both would be great. I would get the 3770 for the newer tech (ie PCIe 3.0).

On the other hand, if you're going for big overclocks, you should get the 2600K.

i would recommend 2600k! suite with those mobos. 3770k is better but if you have the z77 chipset.

What are you planning to do with this computer?

The Ivy Bridge is nothing to get excited about vs Sandy Bridge. Either is going to be a decent choice, however, depending on your overclocking aspirations, (if they exist) the 2600k is going to be a better choice as Ivy runs substantially hotter than Sandy.

Administrator I don't know where you got this information, but I believe it is incorrect. The TDP for the Core i7-3770K is 77 W, while the TDP for the Core i7-2600K is 95 W. See our review.

This discussion only affects people who overclock their CPUs. How much of the market is that? Probably less that 1%.

*shaking my head*.First he dismisses the possibility, then when hes shown evidence he justifies it.. Theres a reason people buy CPUs with unlocked multipliers...... The amount of people who utilize the feature is irrelevant, if his information isnt thorough.

I will to use a little overclock, maybe up to 4ghz. Not much i think.

However, this build are used to gaming and movie edition.

I think you'll be happy with either choice you make, my vote is to go with whichever is cheapest.

For overclocking though you need to make sure there is a "k" at the end. so it would be i7-3770k
