i have an asrock extreme4 motherboard and I am just trying to see what this old chip will do. 44x100 was perfectly fine using axtu and offset voltage, but my multiplier is locked there so I went into bios and used 36x125 to hit 4.5ghz and set the fixed voltage to 1.35 just to test.

If I try to set anywhere above 36 with 125 bclk it just boots right back to 4.5ghz, even when my bios says 37x 125. This is my first night tinkering with overclocking from bios so am i just missing something super obvious?

temps with prime95 at 4.5ghz were good, but if its my mobo limiting me at 4.5 or something like that ill just go back to 4.4 and offset voltage. Anyways thanks in advance, hopefully i didnt ask too dumb of a question.

Sorry if I was unclear. i7 3820 is partially unlocked, you can't do 45x100. I hit the max overclock i could without bclk at 4.4 44x100. Anyone running above 4.5 ghz is at 125
