I upgraded my I3-4130 into I7-4770 and it only shows 2 cores 4 threads
I disabled Hyperthreading and it changes into 4 cores 4 threads I also tried the MSConfig thing and resetting the bios config

Ok if it were me I would:
  1. Reinstall windows
  2. Bios upgrade/reinstall
  3. CMOS reset

Reinstalling windows should get your drivers working correctly (assuming you are running windows 10)

to solve this problem I need to change my motherboard
That is not very likely. Run msconfig and make sure the Number of processors box is not checked. Press OK and reboot. When you swap to a CPU with more cores or threads, you need to double check this setting.

Hi. I have a 3020 mt and upgraded from i3 4130 to i5 4590. A restart would cause the system to hang otherwise it worked fine. Updating the bios from a02 to a03 fixed this (I had to put the 4130 back in temporarily to do this). Might be the same with your cpu (i.e. not supported in bios until later).
