i7 4790 lagging behind AMD Phenom II X2 550 WHY?

I got disappointed with the Results of Unigine 4 benchmarkings of my new PC (compared with old PC)...
Can anyone please explain

For both the setups, I used same Unigine settings
Setup1(Old): Min Frames:3, Max Frames:16
Setup2(New): Min Frames:2, Max Frames: 13.2

Why the new setup is giving less frames ...


Setup1:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x2 550
RAM: Dolgix 8GB (4+4 GB) 1333
Graphics: Radeon 4650 with 256MB GDDR4
MotherBoard: Biostar T890GX


Setup2:
CPU: Intel i7 4790
RAM: Corsair 8Gb single stick 1600
Graphics: Radeon 4650 with 256MB GDDR4
MotherBoard: MSI Z97 PC Mate

(I have used same display card in both the setups)

I doubted on i7 CPU, so performed health test with software from Intel's own website, CPU passed

Mobo drivers from DVDs are outdated as soon as they are burnt to them 😉

why dont you just use the igpu of the i7 it is a lot better than that Radeon 4650, and for sure you are using a crap psu, you are going to burn all your new hardware

Onboard graphics is very poor compared with my Old Radeon, ... If I use Onboard Graphics and run Unigine, it will be almost like system freeze and even not able to move mouse curser to Benchmark button

Are you crazy the HD Graphics 4600 is better than that outdated GPU

Like said, the installed Intel graphics driver is very old. The current one is version 15.36.28.4332
Download it from Intel.
If you can't find it there, Google for Intel HD graphics 4600 driver. (4th generation HD graphics)
Or download the driver updater from Intel:
Intel driver update utility
But check the version of the driver after that

Updated my system with ASUS Strix 970, and ran the unigine and got satisfactory results ... but there is big deviation between min FPS and Max FPS ... pls see the attached img 3rd part and let me know your comments

Update Bios of motherboard

Fresh install windows

Could help, but a new windows installation would fix all problems you have:
Uninstall AMD drivers with ddu uninstaller and install the newest drivers from NVIDIA.com for your gtx970 version 361.43

Run 3dmark basic edition (firestrike) and post the link of the result.

Which Intel chipset driver version is installed now?
