Hey guys, I have an extreme temp problem with my cpu. Just a minute after enter bios my cpu goes from 40c to 88c and i have no idea why. Reseated my cooler master seidon 120v multiple times with new thermo paste, updated bios, nothing works.. any ideas?

My rig:

Asus Z97-PRO wifi ac
I7-4790K
Cooler Master Seidon 120v
HyperX Savage 8gb x2 1600 Mhz
Seasonic X-Series 850w
MSI Geforce Gtx 1060 Gaming 6gb
Samsung Evo SSD

I have two fans running max speed at the front of the radiator and the back, the pump works, can feel the heat from the tubes. Cpu running at 0.938v.

Have you actually booted and checked temps with other software mate or will it not boot at all ?
Are you sure one of the pins on AIO housing is not busted preventing it from sitting tightly against the CPU ?

How old is the cooler and are you sure the pump works?
It may have lost fluid over time or the pump may not be working properly. The trouble with AIOs is you can't see what's going on but a temperature rise that fast indicates either there's not enough fluid, there's air in the system, or it's not circulating because even with no fans it takes time to heat up the water and an idle cpu should not do that quickly. What you describe is worse than a stock intel cooler and sounds like you have barely any cooling at all.

It boots and i checked with hwinfo and speedfan and i get 96c from both. I checked the housing several times but ill do it again. Ill try and breadboard it and do everything real slow so i dont make any mistakes.

so they dont last any longer than 3 years??

unfortunately my stock one has broken in storage for some reason. ill go buy a new one and try that, ill post some pics too from hwinfo 64
