[SOLVED] i7 5820k with an X99 FTW-K, unable to correctly OC the CPU ?

Howdy,

I am attempting to OC my 5820k to 4.5gh, or around there, in preparation of my 3090. Now I followed 2 guides,

My issue is followed. I am able to change the multiplier, however, when I change the voltage, it get stuck in boot and either gives me error code 39 or 40, both of which don't seem to exist. I changed the voltage option to adaptive, and then set the offset by +25mV which didn't boot. I then set the target voltage at 1.1v which also failed to boot. I skimmed the manual and It doesn't specify how to best increase voltage. Any insight would be appreciated, lads.

PS, I have checked if the PSU is the issue, its not.

The 5820k will need upwards of around 1.3v for 4.5ghz, my 5820k needed 1.28v for 4.5ghz stable, 1.33v for 4.6ghz which was kinda warm for a my 360mm AIO.

My 5960x needed 1.26v for 4.5ghz and 1.32v for 4.6ghz but again was a bit too warm for my liking, both of these were on a EVGA x99 Classified.

I would not go above 1.35v on the CPU on Haswell, Broadwell is different so I wouldn't follow any of the Broadwell guides.

I wish I could help more, but its been a while since I overclocked on x99, but 1.1v is way to low for 4.5ghz.
