Hi there, I'm currently trying to overclock my i7-7700k to 4.8GHz from 4.2GHz. However, it doesn't matter what I change in my BIOS, my CPU does not want to overclock.

Current specs:
i7-7700k
2x16, 2x8 2400MHz RAM
Nvidia 2070 Super
H100i 240mm Water Cooler
ASUS Z270G Motherboard
Corsair RM750i PSU
2TB HDD, 500GB SSD, 1TB M.2

PS. I have tried to OC on an old cooler and got a blue screen prior to installing a new AIO and trying to OC again. I have also tried updating BIOS, to no avail.

Any clarity I would be grateful for, thank you!

Solution
My own 7700K runs fine at 4.7 GHz on default core voltage, but, as Prime95 would crash at 4.8 GHz on my sample, might I suggest perhaps incremental increases (100-200 MHz at a time?)with testing for thermals, etc., vice just jumping to something that might not work at all?

A decent increase is to be had merely by enabling MultiCore Enhancement in the BIOS..(which allows all cores to scale to max single core turbo of 4.5 GHz; I'd start there with something 98% likely to succeed)
