My i7 8700k is running at around 4.4ghz aldo i never said it to that. I never did any sort of overclocking. I Have disabled enhanced multicore performance but that just made it stop running at 4.7ghz. I just want the stock 3.7ghz. My motherboard is an asus rog strix z370-h gaming thanks in advance!

"Stock" is 3.7, but will turbo-boost to 4.7GHz on some cores, and lower "boost" clocks, depending on the number of cores active.

Enhanced multicore is a sort of OC (which you've disabled) but to run strictly at 3.7GHz, you'd need to disable "turbo boost" in your BIOS..... although I'm not sure why you'd want to?

Oh so it's just my turbo boost i'm seeing? I thought it was an active overclock.

Okay thanks allot!

Greetings! While you have disabled the Multi-Core enhancement function on your computer's motherboard, the Core i7 8700K can and will boost the clock speed of at least two of its cores should the need arise and the conditions (like temperature) permit it.

This CPU can still boost a single core up to 4.7Ghz, and that is within the specification of the chip itself. In addition it can also boost multiple cores, but the frequency decreases a little as each additional core is added.

Thanks for the info. My temps are good so i don't have to worry about it.
