Does anyone have the numbers to a stable overclock with some reasonable temperatures? For my cooling I am using a Zalman CNPS 9900 LED fan. Any suggestions? Is ~70 C an ok temp while doing things like installing games, etc.?
try using a stressing program and see what ur max temp is after an hr or 2, numbers depend on everything, so ur gonna really have to do some trial and error to see what yields the best temp/performance ratio
Unfortunately, the CNPS 9900 is not a good performer on i7s, but it's not terrible either. If you have the money and case space, you might consider investing in something better. You can get them pretty cheap, such as the Core Contact Freezer, though in that case you will need this extra bracket.
That being said, 70C is NOT an okay temperature while installing games (which is basically idle). If a reliable temperature program is telling you that your cores are near 70c while installing games, you have a problem and should not put any serious load on the processor until you fix it. If I recall correctly, Intel's specced max safe temp for i7s is 68C, and safe overclocks keep 100% load temps near or under 70c.
After moving the case around, I managed to keep my temps low, I'm playing DMC 4 right now and the temps stay below 50. Helps to have a massive 200mm fan at the top of your case. Oh Antec 900, how I love you. But yeah, hoping to OC this baby to about 3.4, 3.6 in the future.

Find your settings at the Corair Forums. The settings for the P6T Deluxe and P6T Deluxe V2 are the same.
