I7 920 first overclocking in my life

hi everybody i am curently building my very first pc and i am looking to overclock my I7 920 from 2.6ghz to 3.2ghz

the motherboard is an asus P6T http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=021131&cid=MB.303

i just wanted some advice for a cpu fan that will keep my pcu nice and cool after the overclock and also because this is my first overclock i would need

some advice on what changes need to be done to get that speed

i was looking to use the turbo V from asus or any tool

i am kinda scared to do anything in the bios because i realy wouldnt want to mess everything up to the point where i need a new board or cpu

so any advice or videos on what numbers and setings i need to change would be great

Your stock fan will support that CPU at 3.20 GHz. If you want more cooling, perhaps to overclock further, look to Newegg for the best deals on upright 120mm coolers that work with LGA-1366 sockets.

Really, all their 120mm upright coolers are good.

I agree; I got mine past 3.2 with stock and the temps for 3.2 are around 70ish, acceptable. If thats all you want, don't spend another 80 dollars for cooling unless you want to keep the cpu for 10 years.

I personally couldnt keep my temps down when going past 167mhz due to the fact the wattage of an i7 core goes over 150+watts during stress testing at 100% and no air cooling I tried would keep up with that amount of heat, so I went to Swiftech Ultima water cooling for under $300 and now I am stable and running between 32c-45c /60c max at these settingsurl=http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=590631]
