Hello, my current processor is a 2700k and I want to upgrade it to a 9700k and a new MOBO. I have 16GB DDR3 1600mhz hyperx (2x 8GB) memory and I wonder if I will have to purchase another pair of memories in order to work well with the 9700k. Is it worth upgrading to a DDR4 2666mhz, and will it stutter if I use my current DDR3 1600mhz?
Thanks,

Yes, you're going to have to buy at least a DDR4-3200MHz dual channel kit to avail the processor's potential and you're going to need a Z370 or a Z390 board to do that. DDR3 will not work after the Skylake series of processors.
Thank you! But I still have a question. The processor's specification ask for a 2666mhz memory. Why would I need the 3200??
