Could you guys help me to decide between 1155 and 1366 sockets?
I want future proof for another 3 or 4 years most.
I’m a gamer and let’s say I need it for 24/7 to play Metro 2033 and Crisis on top settings.
I also need it for hd video and 2D-3D graphics.
Build 1: Socket 1366
Cooler Master HAF X
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 80+ 1200W
ASUS Rampage III Extreme
Intel Core i7 Extreme 980X 3,3GHz
Cooler Master V6 GT (CPU Cooler)
Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 PC16000/ 2000MHz CL8 Fan 3x2GB
OCZ SSD 60GB (2 ssds, one for system/programs, second one for games)
Asus GeForce ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5 1536MB
Monitor: NEC MultiSync EA261WM 1920x1200, 5ms, thin bezels.
Later on I will add:
Another Asus GeForce ENGTX580
Two more NEC MultiSync EA261WMs for surround gaming.
It may sound strange but I can get the i7 980x for 400$. I’ll name it as i7 980x Extreme Black Market Edition
If air cooling is not sufficient I’ll be going for the water cooling later on.
Build 2: Socket 1155
Cooler Master HAF X
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 80+ 1200W
Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7
Intel Core i7 2600K 3,4GHz Socket 1155 Box
Cooler Master V6 GT (CPU Cooler)
Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 PC16000/ 2000MHz CL9 Fan 2x4GB
OCZ SSD 60GB (2 ssds, one for system/programs, second one for games)
Asus GeForce ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5 1536MB
Monitor: NEC MultiSync EA261WM 1920x1200, 5ms, very thin bezels.
All the same:
Another Asus GeForce ENGTX580
Two more same NEC MultiSync EA261WMs for surround gaming.
I heard that the SLI is the best on 1366 mobos for multi monitor gaming.
Thank you for reading
All the best
