I am using a ThinkCentre M51 Motherboard 3.2GHz P4 HT 29R8260 8143-WNP
currently running windows 7 from a Sp2514N-250gb/7200rpm/8m-pata hdd.
The problem is, when I disconnect this hdd and hook up a sata I get "no boot devise", and it doesn't show in the bios.

Feel like i'm just missing some settings, but I need some help.
Thanks,
Michael

The SATA port may not support how your drive is configured jumper wise. Some drives have a jumper to select the speed of the port its connected to. 1.5 vs. 3.0. That system is a bit older and may only support 1.5.

If windows found and installed your new sata adapter it may not be detected. Try to intall the new sata adapter with it's own install software.
