I am looking to find wehere thw sound connector for DVD player goes on a IBM Motherboard number 5MDTM52 P4 at 3.0 Ghz

Yes and usually there is a connector to receive the audio cable from the DVD internal drive. It is nowhere to be found. That model from IBM is very slim and does not have many slots to accept ather boards like an audio card that would have that kind of connector attached to it.

That may be the only solution.

I called LENOVO and they were very open to help and call them when I am next to the device. Pretty hard to beat. I'll try them when I go to that place next time I have a chance.
