[citation][nom]RADIO_ACTIVE[/nom]WOW you are a sucker for marketing lolI can't even begin to count how many times I have heard"the character animations are like nothing ever seen""the graphics are like nothing you have ever seen on the before"[/citation]

I would consider character heads or rounded objects that do not show hard angles. The bearded character shown above shows very flat texture which I hope is changed for the PC version. Overall the game looks great and will give Crysis a run for its money!

[citation][nom]b23h[/nom]If I am not mistaken, other than the recent "Rage" on iOS, id's last title was 2004's Doom 3. I'm not sure that trying "too hard" is the phrase I'd use for a situation like that. They are certainly not just creating "shovelware".[/citation]

I did look and why is that everything says it only supports DX9. Where are you looking lazy ass.

Wrong person I meant it for notuptome2004

yea, wrong person. You need to control that shotgun a little better and not spray it around. I do know that it is a DX9 engine as I stated that I was disappointed it wasn't even using DX10.

Now as far as notuptome2004, he didn't really say it is a DX11 engine, he stated that "Rage and Id Tech 5 use OpenGL which can do everything DX11 can do so the PC version will and is not a cheap ass port."

Now I don't know if he is right about OpenGL and if it can do everything DX11 can, perhaps he is or not. I do tend to agree with him in this way, what I know of the id Tech 5 engine, is that it is designed explicitly to make writing for different platforms easier. I tend to think a group as closely tied to PC gaming as id will not come out with a "cheap ass port" for the PC. Let's wait and see....

well the console version of Rage uses a various Dx9 APi since both Ps3 and360 uses the API but for the Pc it is OpenGL as JC has always used openGL . but the PC version is the main platform but each will run at the same FPS the only differences between Pc and the console is API and the fact the Pc can scale in resolution.

also to note Rage makes use of Megatexure 3.0 technology in Tech 5 witch means each texture is different no repeating textures like in other games also found this PDF on id tech 5 http://s09.idav.ucdavis.edu/talks/05-JP_id_Tech_5_Challenges.pdf

found an interview on it also for those who want to read but here is a snipit from it below http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/id-tech-5-interview

We have the PS3, the 360, the PC and the Mac all running at a very high frame-rate - basically all running at 60fps right now - and what's really unique is that when an artist builds an asset they don't know what they're building it for. They build the exact same model, the exact same level, and it doesn't matter what platform hey're putting it on. That's a huge breakthrough. A lot of times you'd have your PS3-optimised assets, your Xbox-optimised assets, your PC-optimised assets, and at the end of the project you'd do this ugly Mac port. If not an ugly PC port. We think that the fact developers can cleanly simultaneously develop all four platforms is a huge change.
