Just an FYI. This game is not a port from consoles.
The Tech 5 Engine is a multi-platform engine designed for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Linux, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The game itself was, like most games now, created on all platforms at one time.
While it's probably true that the initial game design was centered around consoles IT IS NOT a port.
Ports are from games created on one platform then written for another with minor changes in game play, graphics and changes between a game controller and a keyboard etc, etc.
I do believe more attention was given to the console market though as most casual gamers use those systems. It's where the money is.
Hence the problems on the PC version.

Just to let everyone know: A bad port is a bad port.

A badly ported game will Never run well on the PC. I have learned this the hard way, through wasted cash, many times. I have a lot of personal experience to speak from here.

Every time this happens the same arguments, often downright lies, are put forward all over the place to try and convince people to still buy the product, and here they are:

It's just the config files, you just need to tweak a couple settings or force a couple 3d settings in Windows or with some AMD/Nvidia utility, and you are good to go. Lie. This has never made a game that runs terrible suddenly run good, no matter how much these people try to convince themselves it does. Don't fall for this.

And second - the drivers just need to be patched. Don't worry, as soon as the next driver patch comes out suddenly the game, instead of being a buggy hog, will be a beautiful flawless experience. Lie, totally unrealistic, has never worked. Don't fall for this. Each driver upgrade brings about a marginal improvement, if any. Do you want to wait 3 years until it runs as you would expect it to? No.

Third - oh it runs Perfect on my PC. Unless they can show video footage,
proving it is PC footage and showing it running flawlessly, Do Not fall
for this.

Uninstalled Rage after a week of trying fixs, patches, configs to get past the intro movie & play the game. A game is essentially a product. If a product is unfit for purpose, it is faulty & becomes a legitimate claim for refundables. That's what theyve done here. Releaesd a sub-standard product. If a car manufacturer releaed a car without safety tests, or a store sold contaminated food.... Well at least the dvd case will make a good coffee mat 😱(

John Carmack is a complete Moron who insists on using open GL which is why Rage was a clusterf***... It's called directX Carmack you tool....
