Desktop drives are fast performers, but sometimes the noise and high temperatures they generate can be annoying. In contrast, notebook drives are perfectly gentle. By putting two of them into an IDE stripeset (RAID 0), we obtained high performance as well. Could this really be a feasible alternative?
