Just to re-inforce what was said before me, If i were you i would make it mandatory to run memtest86 on that machine with the generic ram inside of it. Generic ram has a far greater tendancy to have failures than well known brands (kingston, crucial, etc.). The difference is that the national brands are fully tested before they head out the door, while the testing on generic ram isn't so hot (seriously do they only check if the system doesn't beep when it's plugged into the mobo?).
If i was in your shoes i'd make it a point to do this ASAP before you get into trouble with crashes, which can lead to data loss. Should run this over night for a minimum 3 passes (5 or more dosn't hurt either)
