Hello every1
i have a copule of questions.
just got an OEM athlon64 venice 3000+ cpu. but i want 2 make sure i got what i paid for. how can i tell if i really got this chip (and not winchester or something) prior to installing it?
this is what is written on it (i tried 2 look up those codes, but got nothing useful):
Amd Athlon64
ADA3000DAA4BP
LBBLE 0521BPKW
Z711176F50282

antoher thing is that there is a small label stuck on to the CPU heatspreader (where all those codes are written). i think its something from the shop. do i need to take it off before putting the heatsink on it (it comes with a paste).
thanks,
Doron.

That's a 3000+ venice, the 0521 on the 2nd line is the year and week of mfg, so its a pretty new one.

Pull the label and clean the spreader to make sure there isn't any leftover glue.

I'd googled the ADA line to be sure which core, but I knew it was recent from the date code.
