IE Explorer in Windows Pro.

I use Firefox as my default browser but sometimes need IE. For some
reason the IE program start icon is gone and when I search using
"explore.exe" the results are that the program can not be found.
However if I go to run and enter explore.exe it works fine. Any
suggestions?

Right click Desktop | Properties | Desktop tab |
Customize Desktop button | General tab |
Desktop icons | Select what you want on the Desktop:
? My Documents
? My Computer
? My Network Places
? Internet Explorer
