If ps3 is set to 1080p why does not look as good when it outputs 720p

Hello, i had a 32'' hd ready tv which was perfect for the ps3 but recently bought a 32'' 1080p full hd and the games look blurry and not as crisp as my old tv is there anything i can do to fix this

Do you have to change your PS3's display resolution in its configuration? One reason things can be blurry would be stretching a 1280x720 or whatever it was resolution image up to 1920x1080.

nope the tv changes on its own when i first put it on its outputing at 1920x1080p but when i put a game in it changes to 1280x720p. could it have somthing to do with the ps3 being set to 1080p?

That's what I was asking. I don't own a PS3, but do you need to change its output in the little no-disc configuration menu?

I mean, connect it with an hdmi cable as standard and hold the power button for factory reset, beyond that you'll need a PS3 owner to help you. Sorry chief.

Oh, make sure your PS3 isn't running in 1080i.

You need to switch your PS3 to 1080p. It's probably still set to 720p and your tv is upscaling it which makes it look bad. So, even if your tv sayas 1080p, makes sure the ps3 is set the same as the tv.

On a side note, not all games are 1080 either. Check on the game box at the back to see if it's 720 or 1080.

Because the games arent really 1080P they are upscaled
