I bought the computer off my friend who custom built it through dell the reason he cant give me the password to the bios is because he was drunk when he set it 🙁 so I cannot access my spare 750g HDD (its all hooked up to the mother board and power and all) and I believe its stopping me from upgrading the OS to windows 7 64 bit. if you cant help me with the bios could you tell me a way to access the HDD and to upgrade the OS besides the BIOS? please and thank you ~MyGeekHasItsLimits.

Hi
Do you mean you can't get into bios or you can't change settings in bios ?
.
If you can get into bios or device manager in windows you will see if the new hard disk is detected
But not yet partitioned & formatted

What is current windows version?

To upgrade you run setup on DVD from windows (boot windows on hard disk)
To install fresh version from DVD drive
0Press F12 when bios screen appears and select boot from DVD drive
(No need to change boot device order in bios)

If a desktop usually easy to clear password
If a laptop only Dell or Dell authorised dealer will have software to remove password
( my Dell disk is from 2005 so obsolete )

We are not allowed to help you crack bios or login passwords
