i need this for heavy gaming. a lot of editing videos and rendering them also. i willbe livestreaming to twitch, so if a capture card was included, that would be great. i will be playing games like fallout 4 and others along that line of games at 1440p.i already have an os, keyboard, mouse, and monitor, so im set for that. just bear pc parts. i wouldnt like this to be much below or above 2000 dollars. also with whatever gpu i get i will most likely upgrade and get a second one to use in sli/cfx so a good psu wattage would be needed if i dont want to buy another.
thanks for the help!

I wuda went with the newer 6700k but right now I am not recommending the Z170 platform until the later steppings arrive and any early bugs get washed out and performance tweaks put in. Come Black Friday, I expect these will have all arrived.

The Why's ....

1. MoBo is proven gaming performer with 6 - 7% performance advantage over $300 boards from competitors
2. You have an OLC cooler which kicks tail on any air cooler / CLC and can be expanded to cool your GFX card
3. Your PSU will handle twin 980 Tis plus all water cooling gear
4. The 500 GB SSD and SSHD that is 50% than any hard drive made will really make a difference with your stated usages.
5. The case.... see this rating in 5 categories was 100-98-100-99-100
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdWXLAmmSjc
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/6574/phanteks-enthoo-luxe-full-tower-chassis-review/index8.html
6. Complete LED and fan control systems built in

I can't make a case for X99 system with less than 3 GFX cards.... Z97 is faster than X99 with up to 2 cards.

Again, if ya wait a few weeks, I'd venture into Z170 territory ... P67, Z77, Z87, Z97 all had "birthing issues" in the first 2-3 months of production. From what we are seeing so far, the $139 boards are performing as well as the $300 boards so no sense spending more unless there's an aesthetic thing or feature you want.... RoG boards remain heavily overpriced and don't deliver any more performance then Gigabuye / MSI boards costing $100 less.

Here's a start.

You should add some more GTX 980Ti's down the line and for a capture card, consider an Elgato Game Capture HD.

You don't need a capture card to capture your screen, you would need to use software like OBS.

You really don't need to spend that much

A build focused more heavily on rendering but can definitely game the same if not better than the ones above:
