Hey. I'm planning to upgrade my pc to a better one but don't know which components i should replace or change to.

Specs right now:

CPU: i3-8100
GPU: GTX 1060 3gb
RAM: 8GB DDR4
Storage: 200gb SSD, 1TB HDD
Motherboard: ASUS z370-p
Powersupply: 500 watt

Keep in mind that i'm going to sell the components that i replace. Like if i sell my cpu I'm going to spend the money that i get from it on the newer components. I also have 400 dollars to spend besides the money i sell the old components for

I am in a similar situation to yourself. I am currently upgrading a PC with the same Processor, RAM, storage... are you looking to keep your motherboard? The Z370 board you have supports Coffee Lake Processors. If you are keeping the board, you could upgrade to a next gen i5 9400f for a decent price. It would allow you to keep the mobo, which would lower your costs

Can suggest a build for you but will need a budget and country also gaming screen resolution would help

i currently have a 1920x1080 144hz monitor and another 60hz one

as i said i have around 400 dollars to spend besides the money that im going to sell the components that i replace for. So for example if i sell my gpu for 250 bux i will add that to the 400 and upgrade everything. The whole reason why i need help is because i don’t know what im going to replace and what i can keep.
I also want a good pc that can hold up with a solid 144hz monitor so i get the frames you know.

I don’t know what i’m going to keep and replace that’s why i’m asking but the 9400f i don’t like that cpu alot it works but seem to have a too low clock speed. And if you compare the i3-8100 and the i5-9400f the i5 is only slightly better

Replace the CPU with a 9700k and the PSU with something half decent and well you probably need more monies to replace the GPU

don’t care about the money right now, suggest a gpu that is good with the 9700k , Not too expensive but like does a 2060 or a 2070 work. Does these two work well with my mother board too
