I'm still rocking a haswell rig I heard its going to still be a good platform for at least another couple of years. my specs are asus maximus 7 hero motherboard, liquid cooled i5 4690k devils canyon cpu, 16gb of gskill ripjaws x ddr3 ram 1600 mhz. and a gigabyte GeForce 1060 6gb video card. I want to do one more upgrade which is up the ram speed but stick with 16gb. thinking of buying gskill trident x 16gb ddr3 2400 MHz ram.

Its always good to have RAM. Yes 32GB is alot and should only be bought if needed. Therefore if he is maxing out his 16 he needs a upgrade. Most games these days only use 8GB but if you are multitasking or have dual monitors and gaming while streaming or recording etc. You will need a sufficient amount of ram to do it all.
