Question I'm trying to figure out the RAM clock situation, 2133Mhz and 3600Mhz ?

System Information
------------------
Product Name: MPG B550 GAMING PLUS
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home 64-bit Ver.2009 (OS build 22631.3235)
BIOS Version: 1.G0
BIOS Release Date: 01/30/2024
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
Memory: 64 GB @
- 16 GB DDR4-2132, Corsair CMK32GX4M2D3600C18
- 16 GB DDR4-2132, Corsair CMK32GX4M2D3600C18
- 16 GB DDR4-2132, Corsair CMK32GX4M2D3600C18
- 16 GB DDR4-2132, Corsair CMK32GX4M2D3600C18
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
PSU Corsair RM850X 80 Gold

My issue or concern is that RAM is only clocking to 2133Mhz without crashing, but whenever I enable XMP to get the default 3600 MHz, the PC boots fine but will crash when under load (Benchmark or gaming).
I'm unable to get it to boot when any of the "Memory Try It" options are selected in bios.

Edit: I have gotten 2800MHz to work and performed benchmark without crashing.

All PC components are new 2-3 Days old. Have had issue from first boot. I've run Memtest86 and got zero errors so not sure what else to do or check. Bios was outdated so recently updated it and no changes.

Upon doing some googling I came to realize that the CPU only supports up to 3200mhz, Is this correct?
And if so, I'm still unable to achieve 3200MHz, Am I wrong in pursuing more than 2800 MHz?

Try just two sticks of ram in 2nd and 4th slot, but make sure you're using ram from the exact same package. I know it's not ideal obviously because you bought 4 and expect them to work but Ryzen can be funny with all dimms populated. See how you go trying 2, if you don't have issues then perhaps return the other kit. Im assuming you bought two sets? Memory packed together have been tested for compatibility between them. When you add another set the risk of incompatibility is increased due to manufacturing materials changing, even if specs are the same. So that's another issue.

Thank you for the quick response what’s the performance difference in 64GB at 2800 vs 32 at 3200-3600 if that was to work? Currently using up to 26 GB when playing city Skylines 2 and one or two other games (Not at the same time 🤣) without any other programs running . Also do some work in unity blender etc . If I’m being honest I haven’t seen any performance issues with anything running at 2800 what would be more beneficial?

Wouldn't be a great deal, my guess 10fps or bit more in some games? There are comparison videos on youtube if interested. You're already way above 2133 which is slow so wouldn't be too concerned.

32gb is sweet spot these days. If you manage to use more than yeah more ram would benefit rather than speed but how often would that be if at all.

Right when it was only going up to 2133 mhz it was an issue but now that it’s been able to stay at 2800. I could deal with that. I’ve brushed the line of 30 without multitasking so I might try to stick with the 64. I was just curious as to if it was an issue I was just having or if it was a common issue as you said with Ryzen being picky. I’ll mess with it tomorrow try the 2 sticks just to see if that’s the issue and try all 4 again and see if I can push it a bit more.

Sorry For the delayed update worked late yesterday. I've tried both sets one a time in there and wasn't able to get more than the 2800 I'm getting now. So, I think I'm just going to run both sets at 2800 and call it good unless I find a situation where it's really holding me back.
