But I'm on a somewhat limited income.

This is the motherboard and card I'm looking at right now.

And this is the card.

I've been looking to upgrade for awhile and now I've got the money for it and Oblivion just doesn't run too pretty on an agp 6600 gt.

I'm running a socket 754 3200+ so what I plan to do is transfer the processor over to the new motherboard because I'd rather not (can't afford to) buy a new proc. as well.

Thanks to every/anyone who responds!

What I was going on was that I didn't think it a wise choice to spend as much on an agp card as I would to update into pci-e when I'll just have to eventually anyhow. I assume you know better of this stuff than I do though so thanks for the help.

What are your specs? How muc RAM?

I don't know if it's worth getting a PCI-E mobo for s754. You might be better off getting a 7800GS for AGP, keeping your current motherboard.

You could also get a new mobo and CPU, then use your old video card in it till you can afford a new one. (assuming your RAM will work with the new mobo)

well I could do that but if I buy a new mobo it would be pci-e compliant. That's what I'm saying here.

I'm trying to decide whats the better bargain for me-to go with a new agp card or update into pci-e with a new mobo and card.
