in need of laptop parts

can anyone direct me to find some laptop parts for a msi ms- 1792,
i've found the backcover on ebay but i also need the lcd hinge that connects to the main hinge ( sorta hard to explain )

It looks like they normally sell for around US$14 and the last one sold for $17 so it may be a good idea to wait for a cheaper one to show up.

Normally it's not the hinges that break but the damned plastic nuts they screw into. Just glue metal nuts in place of the plastic ones.

yeah the plastic hole for the nut to go into has broken, the lcd screen rail thing has also snapped on the laptop.

send an email to msi they should be able to send you the repair guild that has all the part numbers needs or let you order the parts from them. also google your model laptop and service part. most laptop they sell the shell as the top and bottom parts and those hinges come wit hthe shell.

Those hinges appear to be ~$80 plus shipping new.

There's usually a surprising amount of empty space around those plastic posts so I usually fill the area with glue (may be a good preventive idea for your new cover too). I wonder why they were so stingy with material as a bit more plastic would've prevented such a common problem.
