IN9 32X-MAX Bios & memory issues

I've had this board for almost 2 years and it's always had some form of problem but recently it has been at its worse state.

System Specs
Abit IN9 32X-MAX
Intel e6850
4GB OCZ DDR23200 4-5-5-15
2 eVGA 8800GT

First issue I have is the voltage settings don't hold even after saving.

Second issue even though I have forced the timing to 4-5-5-15 it still runs at 5-5-5-15. My assumption is because the voltage is not running at its optimal settings its doing that. Anyone have any other ideas as to why its doing that?

Do you have another PSU that you can use for troubleshooting purposes? Also, are you running a current bios?

I own the IN9-32x since Feb 2007, i had ram issues just at the first start, where the ram was sometime not recognized and sometime it worked..after some bios update it finally wokred, with its 2x1Gb of Corsair XMS2 PRO TwinX SLI ver.4.1 (the one wit leds) at 800 / 4-4-4-12. I recently bought another 2x1gb set of the same ram except its marked ver.5.1. The system will no more recognize it as SLI enabled ram, and wont run more than 3gb with the modules installed as Bank1=v5.1 B2=4.1 B3=5.1. A full set with the same installation wont boot the system anyway.. the bios lock at C1. But i can make the mobo accept all them 4 installed as B1=5.1 B2=5.1 B3=4.1 B4=4.1....at 533 / 4-4-4-12, at this point Vista wont boot anymore showing ASCII colored things intead of the loading screen. booting from CD trying a new installion wont work anyway. Now im confused and im stuck with 3Gb running perfectly and stable...so this board is not new to mem issues, this apart its really a good board imo.
Anyway im asking the community for help, mabe im making mistakes somewhere..Atm the bios is the last V15, (just tryed downgrades also).

I've had an Abit IN9 32X Max for the past 2 years and it's been running trouble free all this time. Then I decided to update my BIOS to get a new quad core and now I have problems.

My system specs:

Abit IN9 32X-MAX
Intel q9550 2.833GHz (previously e6600 2.4GHz)
2gb Corsair CM2X1024-8500c5d running at the default of 5-5-5-18 2T (I think)
1 Leadtek 8800GTX (is there a difference between the GTX and the GT?)

I updated my Motherboard BIOS to rev 15 from rev 10 in preparation for upgrading the CPU from a Core2Duo E6600 to a Core2Quad Q9550.
The first crash occured a day or two after the update. When it didn't happen again, I thought it was just a fluke and unconnected to the update. So I went along and got the Q9550 as planned.
But since then, I've had blue-screen crashes every 24 to 48 hours, or less!
The blue screen only has 3 lines:
"Hardware malfunction, contact hardware vendor, System halted"
The update went smoothly. I overlooked the Flash Menu program and did it via floppy instead. But there were a few anomalies.
First, the driver for the Slicon Image 3132 SATA controller was knocked out for some reason and Windows had to reinstall it. I told windows to look online for the driver and I think it got it from Microsoft. It appears to be a newer version than what's offered on your site, but it behaves differently from the original version that came with the board. Previously, connected eSATA devices didn't appear on the "Safely Remove Hardware" list and I could disable write caching. After reinstalling the driver, they do appear on the "safely remove hardware" list and I can't disable write caching. The controller is also listed under "SCSI and RAID controllers" The driver version is listed as (1.0.22.3)
Second, an "Unknown Device" appeared among my connected USB devices listing. This is odd because my USB devices were accounted for in the Device Manager listings. Windows was unable to find a driver for it It disappeared after the second last crash last Saturday and hasn't returned, even when I tell Device Manager to scan for hardware changes. In the past few crashes, there was a warning that "an unknown USB device malfunctioned." not long before a crash. Yet my system is still crashing now, even though the Unknown Device didn't reappear..
Third, the processor brand wasn't identified on the bootup screen. But the clock speed and number of cores were correctly identified. Windows XP also thinks it's a P3 Xeon processor. Is this supposed to be the case?
I'd also like to know, is it safe to downgrade the Bios to rev14 to see if it stops crashing? From the Abit board, it looks like that's the only other Bios that supports 45nm cpus like the q9550.
If I can't stop the crashes, I'd hate to get a new board. I do not look forward to that.
So, please help.

Mine has stopped working, the LEDs light up when I switch on the PSU but the power button won't switch it on. REsetting the bios won't help neither, it alywas gave me trouble but I think its on its last days now :S
