Hi,

I'm getting the same problem. If User1 logs on it redirects the printer then they log off. The session in the terminal services manager shows they have disconnected then dissappears (which is what it should do). However, when the printer session mapped to that user is still listed in Printers and Faxes on the terminal server. This session printer is mapped to a port. When the client reconnects, they are mapped to a new port which is inactive and they are unable to print. to solve the problem all I have to do is change the port in the properties of the new session to the correct port. However, I can't keep monitoring printer connections for clients in Real Time as I have 80+ networks to remotely manage.

Does anybody have a real informed solution for this. Registry tweaks haven't worked. Using TS compatible drivers. Server is 2003 R2 x86. Active Directory based domain. User's login does have a session setting of "Never End A Session" - i wonder does this cause the problem?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm fearful of losing a client due to this recurring problem.

Brendan_91,

Did you ever fix this issue with the orphaned TS printer ports? If so, how?

Sincerely,
David

i'm also looking for a reply to this question...

whenever i log onto the Terminal Server via RDC, the other person in the next office will lose their printer connection... i then have to remap the darn TS Port for the printer to work.
