Increasing the voltage on my Memory

I currently have two 1gb sticks of Patriot pc2-6400 ram which runs at 800 mhz at 5-5-5-15 timings. The specs on the ram state that they should run at 4-4-4-12 timings at 2.2v. My motherboard supports ram voltages of 1.8 without increasing the voltage, and will max out at 2.1v.

My question is, will increasing the voltage automatically increase timings? Also, what effect will this have on my motherboard, will it start running significantly hotter than before?

As always, everyone's help is very much appreciated.

I was afraid of that. My motherboard doesn't allow me to change memory timings in the BIOS (unless I'm completely missing something).

Will the increase in voltage effect the motherboard at all?

i have 4-4-4-12 ram 4gb corsair and had to up the voltage to 2.1 from the auto of 1.8! It is rated at 2.1 so I think it is alright and prime95 runs fine. Run prime95 after upping the voltage for at least 12 hours to check.
