Hello, Hi. I bought a standard version of dell's inspiron 580s. It sucks for gaming because of its terrible Radeon hd 5450 1gb ddr3 that it comes with. the processor is decent, an i3 at 3.2 ghz 4gb RAM but the radeon HD 5450 really makes all my games have fps issues even at lowest settings(and these are OLD games). I want to be able to play battlefield 3, skyrim, batman arkham city, guild wars 2, modern warfare 3, ghost recon future soldier and black ops 2 when they come out all in maxed out 1080p , so i need a better graphics card. What would meet all my needs? Also, since im no expert, will i need to change things like the power supply or change cooling fans and things like that when i change the gpu or are those things unaffected by a change in graphics card?
one more thing in yahoo answers i found this

"Because you got the slimline model (ending in s) you cannot upgrade to any serious gaming cards.

Slimlines have 3 major disadvantages compared to regular tower desktops.

1) The narrow chassis only accepts low-profile graphics cards. There aren't any high-end graphics cards available in low-profile.

2) They have physically smaller, lower wattage proprietary power supplies. You can't simply buy a standard ATX power supply made by Antec, Corsair, OCZ or Silverstone to replace your factory psu... only small power supplies made specifically for your specific slimline model will fit, and frequently those aren't available in high enough wattage to be useful.

3) The smaller chassis is terrible for airflow and cooling, so overheating problems are common, especially when any standalone graphics card is installed."

is that true 🙁 ? Thanks.

PD: i like the radeon hd 7850 2gb ddr5 OC EDITION but i dont know if will be able to run in my inspiron 580s
mi mobo its a dell inc 0c2kjt

The three things you listed for your computer is true. These comptuers are not designed for gaming, its more designed for entertainment such as movies, or basic every day computering such as work, powerpoints, emails, and etc... So back to your question. the HD 7850 will NOT fit on your inspirion 580s, as you mentioned earlier, "The narrow chassis only accepts low-profile graphics cards. There aren't any high-end graphics cards available in low-profile." the HD 7850 is not a low-profile card, so it will not fit. Also the power supply is too low to handle the card (only 250 watts), even the HD 7850 uses pretty less power, but still requires ATLEAST 450 watts power supply. The only option for you is to go for low-profile video cards, which they are low performance, not considering a gaming video card. The best low-profile video card is like the GT 440, HD 6670, but due to your power supply is too low, i am not sure if it will handle them. It will be risky.
thank you por your reply dude! if i change mi chasis of the inspiron 580s for a nzxt lexa s or nzxt guardian 921 will be the same? or will be able to put the 7850? if will be able with a PSU of 600w cooler master will be enough? thank you for your help sorry for my bad english

yes that its did you think if change mi chasis will be able to put the 7850? thank you so much for your help! :)

finally good news haha! :) do you think if with a chasis lexa s will be fix the 7850? i know you in the forum of the i3 550 with 7850 i dont know if remember thank you for your help :)

i3 550 with HD 7850? Seems to be bottlenecking. It will work if you buy a new case, but when you get a new case, you need to also buy the power supply as well to fit the case. And you plan to buy the HD 7850. Thats quite a bit to spend right there. If you plan to do that, you might consider build yourself a new pc. Think about it.
yes i was think that but i dont have the enough money and already have the money for the PSU AND THE 7850 i will buy in USA i think to sell the 5450 for complete me to buy the chassis thank you for your help :)

Well, i agree with you, but did you even see his queestion? He wants to play BF3 on Max settings, BF3 is a very CPU intensive game. So dual cores will somehow "barely" do its job. Most games right now, dual cores will play them, but quad cores will be also useful.
well i dont think play multiplayer of bf3 because are not crack for play multiplayer playing camping is perfect thank you so muchfor your time and your answers :)

hello friend sorry for bother again but someone tells me that the 7850 is PCI 3.0 and its probably what the motherboard does not recognize or will take several seconds or minutes turn on the pc because the video card consumes more energy than the moterboard of my pc is that true 🙁 ?
my mobo is a dell inc 0C2KJT
PC-I EXPRESS 16X

dont contact dell for any info because i am sure it will be 100% compatible, and you need one 6 pin power connector for 7850 what ever is your motherboard ,and that why i told you need 500w or more good brand power supply like seasonic or corsair or any other good brand PSU.

The GeForce GT 610 is just a re-branded GeForce GT 520. They are exactly the same card other than for the name change,gt610 is very slow so i suggest buying low profile 7750 for 115$ to fit in your case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161418
or low profile 6670 for 65$ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131469
or 5570 for 55$ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127611
all these graphics cards are faster than gt610.
i chose AMD because AMD has better price/performance entry level graphics cards than nvidia.

thanx is does are compatible with my pc no need to add more watt
