I have an HP HD-2200 webcam that works fine. When i originally bought it the installation wasn't a problem as the laptop had a cd drive. That laptop was old and slow and i recently bought a newer one, however this one does not have a cd drive. Now the new laptop won't recognize my webcam and the only assistance that HP offers is sending another cd with the drivers on it, which i still have, just no way of using it. Is it possible to download these drivers another way as using the cd is impossible and hp doesn't have any downloadable drivers for the webcam available? I still have the old laptop that has the drivers installed if that makes a difference.

I was curious if this was possible. Can you walk me through this process, my old laptop, the one the driver is on, is running vista and my new one is running windows 7. Sometimes the webcam works on the new laptop but most of the time it isn't recognized, which is why i'm assuming in need the drivers.

When you plug your camera to your new laptop, with W7, and when it's not recognized, did you looked in device manager to see if it's there (listed as unknown device). W7 should check online for drivers.

Nope, when i go through the device manager on the newer laptop with the webcam plugged in, it isn't recognized by the computer and is not listed in the device manager as unknown device or anything else.
