[SOLVED] Install watercooler- no post//remove watercooler-post

Hi everyone


I've been dealing with this issue for to long.
Ive been able to narrow down the issue to mounting Aio block.
Everytime I mount the corsair aio watercooler block the system wont post.

Edit:Most of the time the vga LED on the motherboard lights up.

So I wanted to check wether the cpu was actually getting hot by removing the block and touching it. Everytime I did this the system posted with power to pump still connected.

I dont know why. Did anyone ran into this problem before. What can I do to prevent this awkward problem to persist.

What I tried so far:

-Cleaned cpu socket with soft brush and contact cleaner.
-Renewed bios chip

I would suspect a problem with the physical mounting itself, like over-tightening.

What AIO model are you trying to use?

I think its a h100i but an older version.
Square block 240mm, only the corsair logo lighting up.

Are you 100% certain that you are using the proper mounting components for Socket 2011? As you can see on the link below, there are different parts for different applications (socket types):

Yes 100% sure. I used the left mounting bracket with the right ( as in not left ) standoffs.

I can try applying force to the cpu with my hand while posted to see what happens but this will be finicky as the cpu will most probably freeze up due to overheating. This would most probably end up with useless results.
instead it Might be easier to just use a different cooler like 212 evo since these dont apply much force afaik.

Personally, I use quality air coolers in all of my rigs (big fan of Noctua coolers).

Have you tried removing your CPU and re-seating it in the socket?
