Hi,

I have setup a new PC ready to go but I dont have a USB. Can i install windows to my new SSD (via putting my SSD in old rig) then moving that SSD to my new PC?
or
Can i use my old SSD like a USB and simply put windows install files on it, put in my new PC and install from there when i boot?

I know I can just buy a USB but I have to wait 5 hours until the shop is open and I dont want to!!

Not usually. The differences in motherboards causes the registry in Windows to be messed up. You could get blue screens or just chase ghost problems until you do a clean install with only the new hardware. Wait the few hours.

You can, but you really shouldn't as it's a very poor practice. Windows tries to compensate when people cut corners like this, but very often, it won't boot at all or -- possibly even worse -- everything looks fine and you end up chasing weird performance or stability bugs for months. Windows is not designed to be modular in this way.

Just wait the five hours. Anything worth doing is worth doing correctly.
