I have just assembled brand new computer with (Intel 540s Series 240GB SSD) and (HDD Seagate Barracuda 3TB). I need to simply install winow 10 home version on SSD and other programmes on HDD. How do I do this. Both SSD and HDD are connected in the computer.

Solution
unplug the HDD then install windows 10 via USB or disc when all installed plug the HDD back in then everything should be good HDD should be D:\ and windows should be on C:\
I have done exactly what you said, I have installed windows 10 on SSD as C drive, no problem but after I shut down my computer and connected the main Hard drive wires for power and data cable to the computer, it does not read the main Hard drive so I cannot see D drive. Any suggestions on this please. This is what I have on my mother board GA-Z270-HD3 slots (SATA Express SATA3 1,0) & (SATA3 2,3,4,5), I connected data cables both SSD and hard drive into the first one which is (SATA Express SATA3 1,0) as before the hard drive data cable was connected into second one which is (SATA3 2,3,4,5). Now data cables for both are connected into the first one (SATA Express SATA3 1,0), but still does not read D drive. Any suggestions please thank you

I tried to connect hard drive in all the SATA connectors but failed to read. I can feel the hard drive is running, I cannot see it is connected anyway. However when I just connected the external hard drive to one of USB port, it is reading as D drive. Can you please have any idea what is happening why my main hard is not reading as D drive thru SATA

Try plugging Sata connectors in other slots?

There is a folder icon on the bottom of the screen click that you then will have explorer pop up and in the left hand panel there will be a list of connected devices it should be in there / or right click on the windows icon and go up to File explorer

I checked under Device Manager-->and then Disk Drives, I can see there are 2 disks connected but when go from file Manager and my computer I see only one drive which is C drive and I cannot see the other one. Please suggest. Much appreciated your time

control panel-->Hardware & Printers---> Device Manager--> Disk Drives ( I can see 2 drives is showing )

But

File Exploerer ---> My computer --> on the right side only C drive, should be 2 drives

if you can see the drive in control panel-->Hardware & Printers---> Device Manager--> Disk Drives ( I can see 2 drives is showing ) then make sure your not on on the ssd and right click the hard drive and select format as its a new drive I would do a slow format or thorough

Eventually I could make it work today so now I can see both C and D drives. But now its another problem that even after D hard Drive is recognized by the computer but when I install the progreams they go straight to C drive but not D drive. Any suggestions on this
