Question Installed new PSU, some case fans controlled by a fan controller/hub are not working properly

Hello!

I am new on these forums so do excuse any bad formatting. If the post is in the wrong section, pleas do move it.
So long story short. I got my hands on a 3080 ti and wanted to have more overhead so I also upgraded my PSU from an EVGA G2 750 Watt 80+gold to a Seasonic PRIME PX 1000 Watt 80+platinum.
I had no trouble with changing the PSU. I am using the new cables as one should use and everything works fine besides four of my seven fans.
My back fan is connected directly into the mobo and so are two of my right side fans. But the rest were controlled via a fan hub/controller that is integrated into my case, a Cooler Master Storm Trooper. I had no problems with my old PSU.

So I don't know what to do. I used the same setup with cables. Connected the 3-pin molex into a 4-pin molex then directly into the PSU to give power to the fan controller/hub yet those four fans are not spinning.

I would swap back to the old PSU and return the 1000W Seasonic.

750W was already way more than you needed for a 3080Ti, so you do not benefit from moving to a 1000W PSU.

Seasonic are not an amazing brand and as you are finding sometimes higher wattage PSUs don’t quite behave as expected with low power devices like fan controllers.

Alternatively, remove the fan controller entirely and connect all fans to the motherboard. 3-way fan splitter cables are pretty cheap and easy to get.

Ye that is my solution to this problem. I wanted more overhead because I want to future proof. My total wattage puts me at 620ish watt so I have ca. 130 watt overhead. But the 3080ti is power hungry.
I will try solving this else I will just buy one 5-way splitter and problem solved I guess. I just really want to know why it is not working. I am using 100% the same type of cables and connectors. Thank you for the input though.

Sometimes the answer to why is not available to us.

At a very basic level, your new PSU is not sending power correctly down it’s 4-pin molex connector.

For more detail than that you will need to do electrical testing on the PSU.

“Future proofing” is a huge waste of money and time. You don’t know the future. Maybe the 3080Ti is the most power-hungry GPU you will ever buy.

I found another "solution" or something I will try. Going to the store to buy a 4-pin molex to SATA connector which might fix this. Else I will just order a 5-way y-splitter and use that instead of the hub/controller.

Ye so this didn't work or am I possibly connecting it the wrong way.
