Hello,

I'm having problems installing the driver for this card - Asus ATI RADEON HD 3450, PCIE* 2.0, 512MB DDR2-64bit. The motherboard is Asus M2N (Nvidia MCP61) and the OS is Win XP SP2 Home Edition.

The driver setup starts ok but at some point I get a message stating that setup doesn't find any compatible hardware installed. I've tried with both original Asus VGA driver supplied with the graphic card and the last Catalist driver from Ati website, ending up with the very same result.

I have the latest bios installed for M2N motherboard and the ATI graphic card. After setup exists it asks for restarting and the after rebooting I can see Asus ATI 3450 in device manager but with status disabled. If I manually enable the card in device manager it tells me something doesn't work (and then I can see various codes, mostly code 22, code 20 and code 18 :pfff: ).

I know that the motherboard has PCI Express 1.1 bus, but I think it should work anyway.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

This M2N motherboard does not have onboard VGA. The single option in bios related to this, is that to choose either PCI or PCIE, and of course PCIE is set.

The problem was generated by ATI HD audio driver and by the device itself, which is automatically disabled right after rebooting with the new graphic card installed.
