Is it better to install the cooler when the mb it's inside the case and screwed in by the stand offs (Assuming there is the hole at the back of the case to install hyper 212 stand off) or is it better to install it outside of the case before placing the motherboard inside the case?

it depends if your case has a hole in the backside where you can get to the motherboard to put the bracket on. If you case has this, its more stable and easier to put on when the motherboard is installed... if your case doesn't have much room to work with on the backside you might be better off putting the cooler on first.

I just did mine. I did it outside the case and it was pretty easy if you pay attention to which notch in the bracket you're supposed to use. Don't overtighten anything and just start loosely threading on the bolts. Once everything is on you can torque it down.

Yeah the case that I am getting is the corsair r300 which has that square at the back of the case where the motherboard is which is probably for installing the thing.

I think I'll install the motherboard in first which allows me to install the stands easier without me having to flip and hold the board up if I were to install it outside the motherboard.

It is usually better to install outside as you have an extra "handle" to hold the motherboard by, but I don't think there is much of a difference though regardless(? )
