I am planning to install Mac OS X Tiger on an unsupported mac computer that already has Mac OS X Panther on it. I am planning to follow the steps listed in <http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20051211074138859, but I am wondering if I can do all the steps with an external USB 1.1 DVD drive instead of an internal one. My Mac doesn't have a DVD drive, only a CD drive. I want to install OS Tiger for web browsing with TenFourFox and running some applications. If that doesn't work without an internal drive, I was wondering if I could install Tiger from a supported iMac onto an external hard disk and then plug it in to my mac.
Thanks in advance!

The mac i have doesn't have FireWire. It's an iMac G3 333 MHz Lime. I am thinking of using XPostFacto and using the CD version of TIger

I have another Mac, but which .dmg file do I have? I was planning to use an external DVD drive, not a USB flash drive. I am wondering if I should just use XPostFacto and the CD version of 10.4.
