Hello. Today, i have purchased new Dell Precision 7820. It contains a Dell 5WNJ2 motherboard.

The system has Windows 10 x64 pre-installed.

I have a Western Digital WD_BLACK AN1500 NVMe PCIe SSD Add-in Card. Now i want to add this PCI SSD card in to my PC and install Windows on it. I tried installing Windows on it using a Dell Precision T5610 workstation, but it gave me the error that the motherboard of T5610 does not allow for the Windows to be installed on a PCI SSD drive.

I wanted to ask you if I can install Windows on this PCI SSD drive on my new Dell Precision 7820?
What settings do i need to check to verify that Windows can be installed on this drive ?

Does this motherboard have a native M.2 port, for an NVMe drive?

If not, don't bother.

Just use a SATA III drive, 2.5" format.
